As tax season officially kicks off, one local organization is helping area residents with what many consider a very cumbersome task.

There is free help availble if you think you may have have a problem completing your tax return.

The United Way's Financial Stability Partnership wants you to keep your refund without paying any fees.
It's the fourth year this program has provided this service to the community and in this economy every little bit helps.

The deadline to submit your taxes may be months away, but there are plenty of things you can do to get a jump on filing your 2009 taxes.

Deborah Adams-McDonald of H & R Block said there's no reason to wait til the last minute.

"You can get started early," she said. "We have early access to W2s this year, if your employer is one who puts them on the Internet. You can pull them up on the Internet and bring them in that way."
