Thanks to a hefty donation, those without a meal on Thanksgiving can enjoy turkey and all the fixings at Christ's Table in Zanesville.

More than 20 turkeys were donated by the National Wild Turkey Federation's Y-City Longbeard Chapter. Executive Director Keely Warden said with the help of the donation Christ's Table has met their goal of 25 turkeys to help feed those in need.

"When you start making your grocery list for Thanksgiving, when you're going to serve 200 people you...

For many of us, Thanksgiving is a time to gather around the table and spend time with family, but for those less fortunate, a turkey dinner may be hard to come by.

For over a decade, the Salvation Army in Zanesville has prepared a special Thanksgiving meal for anyone needing a place to go, but this year, Captain Diane Campbell said there's a big problem.

"The situation is that I asked my cook if he has enough turkeys, and he told me he only has five," said Campbell....

Just because Thanksgiving is a national holiday, doesn't mean everyone gets the day off. But who says you still can't have Thanksgiving dinner on the clock?

The Zanesville Fire Department along with the Police Department gathered to enjoy their Thanksgiving feast at the firehouse. But while they may enjoy a few good laughs and eat some Turkey Day goodness, they are always prepared for whatever may come their way.

"Thanksgiving Day is no different than any other day. The...

Thanksgiving is a time to spend time with family and friends and of course be thankful.

Many residents in Southeastern Ohio said that this year family is for what they are most thankful.

"Without my family. I wouldn't be anything," said Jenny Porter. "It's as simple as that."

"My daughter," added Kira Rose. "She'll be two in like two weeks, so my daughter."

And in this economy some said they are happy for what they have.

More than 42 million Americans are expected to travel over the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.

AAA says that's an 11.4% increase from last year.

"Friends and family, it's really once a year they get together, and they aren't going to allow the gas prices to discourage them or impact their decision on travel, to visit friends and family for the holidays," says local store manager, Rhoda Collins.

Because most people will be traveling between 50 and 80 miles to reach...

The smell of turkey cooking in the oven on Thanksgiving is a comforting tradition for many of us, but it can also be a dangerous one if you aren't careful.

The Muskingum Valley Red Cross says the number of house fires doubles on this day.

"There is nothing worse than a Red Cross volunteer or staff member showing up on your doorstep for a holiday, and we do. It's so sad because it's supposed to be a joyous day. It can be an emotional thing when your day is done. It affects...

Turkey, mashed potatoes and vegetables--all key elements to any Thanksgiving, but what can you do to keep from eating the same food over and over?

"Just have some fun," said Chef Bill Bird of Zandex. "One of the favorite things is to look in the refidgerator and see what you've got and do some combinations."

Chef Bird said you just need to be a little creative.

"You can make a turkey pot pie," he said. "You've got the...

While some of Zanesville's bravest weren't able to spend time in their own kitchens today, they were able to cook a feast in the fire department's.

Luckily the Zanesville Fire Department will still be able to share Thanksgiving with their family.

"We have dinner around 6 p.m.," said Bill Ehrick of the Zanesville Fire Department. "We're going to have our families come in.
There will be about 40 of us. We'll have some turkey and ham and play a little basketball...

While some are at home celebrating the holidays, others are out helping in the community.

Christ's Table is just one place where some spent their time helping serve Thanksgiving lunch to others who may not have had a warm meal otherwise.

"We have more volunteers on the holidays than we do on a typical day. Everyone just wants to do their part by helping serve and do things in here," said Kitchen Coordinator Tina Adolph.

Adolph said they will never turn away a...
