Today kicks off the holiday season and many people refelct on the past present and future to think about what they're greateful and thankful for.

Among people's list of thanks is friends.

I am thankful for my best friend Karen im up here visiting her we've been best friends for 31 years. I'm thankful for her and I'm thankful for God too," Janie White said.

Bars are cleaning glasses and stocking up for the biggest bar night of the year.

Bars like Buffalo Wild Wings on Maple Avenue and The Barn on Linden Avenue say they expect crowds to be elbow-to-elbow, but they say everyone has a great time.

"We have a great crowd everybody is home for the holidays, we are always packed and it is a lot of fun," tells Kelli Walter, manager at The Barn.

The season of giving is upon us, but Christ's Table Executive Director, Gretchen Sayre, says not as many people are willing to donate their time to help those in need, and she says the need is out there now more than ever.

"With the job losses we've had in Muskingum County and surrounding areas, we are seeing a peak influx of our guests coming in. We're thankful that we're able to provide a meal for them, " says Sayre.

Thanksgiving is one time out of the year when we get to sit down with family and enjoy a home-cooked feast.
