Shortly after the storm started Friday night, the Fieldhouse took a big hit.

"We had everyone up in the front lobby area just keeping an eye on what's going on. In the bigger field you could hear the roof rise up and let down, so that's kind of what told us something was going on and so shortly after that we came and checked it out and saw a big piece of the roof missing," said employee Eric Flint.

A crew came to assess the damage Friday evening and discovered almost...

It was an event that raised the question, "Who let the dads out?"

Dads and their kids were invited to an evening of fun and games at the Fieldhouse as a part of the ForeverDads program.

Jeff Wickerham of ForeverDads said the overall goal is for dads to spend time with their children and to take a pro-active role in their lives.

"Get those father figures involved, make them aware of what's going on in their kids' lives because there's a lot of dads who aren't...

By now, many of us have given up on our New Year's resolutions to lose weight, but a Zanesville woman is an inspiration to get back on track.

Angela Cordray has dropped hundreds of pounds over the past two years.  Cordray said her size prevented her from leaving the house, but a new device helped her exercise without stepping foot in a gym.

"I started using a stationary bike and one of these pedal devices," said Cordray.  "You can be sitting in any seat,...

One local gym is encouraging everyone to be active.

As a part of the "Field of Dreams" program at the Fieldhouse Family Fitness Center here in Zanesville, children like 8-year-old Cameron Taylor, who had to have part of his leg amputated due to bone cancer, are being given the opportunity to play the sports they love. Owner of the Fieldhouse, Mic Amicone, says physically disabled children deserve the chance to be active just like anyone else.

"A lot of those kids...

She may be 90-years-old, but Bea Alwood is kicking, stretching, and moving her hips at The Fieldhouse.

She has been a water aerobics instructor at the facility for 12 years and taught dance before that.

"My husband and I were ballroom dancers. I've just had exercise all my life. So, I just love every bit of it. We have fun. That's the main thing," says Alwood.

Alwood says she loves the water because it's so therapeutic.

"There's things that we do in the...

As we transition our winter workout schedules to summer routines, we need to be aware that the increase in temperatures is going to allow us to sweat more, whether we are indoors or outside.

That means consuming more fluids because local trainers say water is the most important element to fuel our bodies.

"Our bodies are over 60% water, and if you get to a point where you're thirsty, you're already dehydrated. So, you want to make sure you're on a regular schedule drinking...

Most local residents agree that it's been a long winter, but The Fieldhouse says it has benefited from all this snow.

"In 20 years, we've never seen an increase like this from February to about March. So, we're very pleased to be able to service everybody that needs to come in, " says owner, Mick Amicone.

Amicone says more people are going to the gym because they can't exercise or do their regular routines outside.

"This has been a really bad East Coast/...

About 130 local residents are serious about shedding some pounds and signed up to be a part of The Fieldhouse's Best Loser Challenge.

It's been a month, and owner, Mick Amicone, says participant attendance is up from years past.

"Even with the snow, some have shared that they're tired of being snowed in. So, some of them are even figuring out, however, to get here. Getting a ride with someone who's got four-wheel drive, but they're getting here, " says Amicone.
