Since 2006, the United Way of Muskingum, Perry and Morgan Counties has been providing free tax preparation services for residents. Executive director Meg Deedrick, said the free service was started to increase income for families and households in the three county region the United Way serves.

Starting in January, the United Way of Muskingum, Morgan and Perry counties will start their free tax clinics again, but they need the help of at least 35 volunteers to meet their goal of filing 560 individual tax returns.

Teens in need in Muskingum, Perry and Morgan Counties tend to be an age group overlooked by charities and organizations during the holiday season.

The United Way's 2-1-1 Call Center has identified an unmet need of children 13 and over. The center has a list of children who need help for Christmas.

The gift of warmth has been given to those in need in Zanesville.

A local organization is targeting shoppers for its next fundraiser...

The arrival of the shale oil and gas industry brings up questions as to how our area will be impacted...

The John McIntire Library hosted presentations from over a dozen community organizations today.

The agencies of the United Way of Muskingum, Perry and Morgan counties spoke to investors and area residents on how their agencies will impact the community during the next fiscal year.

The United Way's Financial Stability Partnership will be holding a six week course called, "Planning Your Financial Future."

You don't need to know all the tax laws or even be great at math. You do need to be willing to give up a few hours a week.

The United Way of Perry, Muskingum and Morgan Counties is looking for volunteers to prepare taxes as part of their free income tax preparation. Volunteers will help families to e-file both federal and state income taxes free of charge. This year they're looking for around 25 people to help out.
