Zanesville Police are investigating a two vehicle accident that sent five people to the hospital Wednesday afternoon.

It happened around 3:00 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 146 and Northpointe Drive.
 

Sgt. Jon McCoy says a car traveling on State Route 146 rear ended a Frito Lay truck.
 

He says six people were involved in the accident with five being taken to the hospital by Genesis Community Ambulance.

US Route 40 near Hopewell will be closed until further notice, due to a two vehicle accident, just west of Mount Perry Road that occurred around 6:15 Saturday evening.

According to the reports from the police scanner, there are possible serious injuries. No other information is available at this time. WHIZ has a crew responding to scene and will bring you updates and they develop.

Plan to take another route for next several hours to avoid possible delays.

A two vehicle accident, involving a semi and an Ohio Department of Transportation truck, shut down traffic on Interstate 70 in both westbound lanes, Wednesday afternoon for several hours.

West Pike has been shut down following a two vehicle, head-on collision. The accident took place around 10:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the intersection of West Pike and Kimes Road.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, there are injuries but the severity of them is unknown. Stay with WHIZ as we will bring you more details when they become available.

Traffic was closed Tuesday evening for about an hour after a two vehicle car accident.

According to Sergeant McCoy from Zanesville Police Department, around 6 pm Michelle Grant of Zanesville, was stopped in traffic in the southbound lane waiting to turn left into the Dairy Mart, at 714 Pine Street, when Michael Willison of Zanesville, rear ended Grant.

There were thankfully no injuries to either drivers, but Grant's Oldsmobile had to be towed from the scene...

The Muskingum County Emergency Management Agency was called to the scene of a car-garbage truck accident this morning that resulted in a fuel spill.

It happened around 10 AM at the intersection of Northpointe and Fairview roads. Zanesville police say the driver of the truck failed to yield at a flashing red light and crashed into a car. A two-vehicle accident in downtown Zanesville sends one person to the hospital.

Zanesville Police say earlier Saturday evening, a Ford Escort heading westbound on Main ran a red light causing a Dodge Ram pickup heading southbound on Fifth to hit the right rear side of the Escort causing extensive damage.

Police say both drivers were claiming they were traveling around 30 miles per hour. A young male was taken to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. His injuries are unknown as...
