A fire broke out Monday evening at the Wal-Mart on Maple Avenue in Zanesville.
Wal-Mart Spokeswoman Dianna Gee said the fire was the result of a teenage prank.
According to Gee, a quick responding customer saw the fire and immediately put it out using a fire extinguisher.
Gee said the fire posed no threat to Wal-Mart customers and there was no need to evacuate the store.
The Zanesville Fire Department responded to the call just before 8 p.m. Monday.

The Zanesville Military Support Ministry uses money raised to send care packages and other necessities to troops overseas. Director Melodie Pittman said their current location is in need of too many structural repairs and will eventually be torn down. The Muskingum County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in a grand theft investigation.
According to Detective Steve Welker on Friday December 3rd at around 2 p.m. a woman stole $500 from a purse in the Wal-Mart parking lot on the Maysville Pike.
Welker says the suspect was in a dark colored SUV, possibly a Nissan 4-Runner.

Newark Police identify the woman shot in front of the Wal-mart Tuesday morning as a 21-year-old Granville woman.
Authorities said around 2:30, Nitaleen McCualsky was found shot in her right side, outside the store on North 21st Street, injures don't appear to be life threatening and she remains in stable condition at Grant Medical Center in Columbus.
Detectives said that 27-year-old Gregory McCualsky, of Newark, the brother-in-law, is a person of interest in the case.
