Over 100 people walked the campus trail to raise money for March of Dimes, a national organization that focuses on preventing and treating babies that are born premature.

"Is to bring awareness to children that are born prematurely and it helps fund certain medications and other treatments for the babies that may be born prematurely here in the area," said Michele Shirer, Co-Logistics Chair for March of Dimes.

Some locals started their Saturday by walking to help out those in need.

The youth group at Apostolic Christian Church in Zanesville walked six miles around Zane's Landing Park to help raise awareness for several different causes including obesity, diabetes and breast cancer.

About 25 students who take part in the Grover Cleveland Gear-Up Program are walking to raise money.

These 6th and 7th graders spent 45 minutes running, jogging, and walking around the school's perimeter to help out a charity of their choice.

With the sun out and shining this afternoon temperatures reached more than 80 degrees.

A local superintendent is lacing up his walking shoes for kids.

David Branch the Superintendent of the Franklin Local School District is walking 13 miles to promote walking to school and the health benefits of walking.
