The Washington Township Fire Department is the second fire department in Ohio to be hosting a free training course on how to respond to grain bin rescue emergencies. This weekend's course is a combination of classroom and hands-on training in a simulation trailer. Firefighters battled a blaze at a home near Zanesville on Sunday.
Perry and Washington Township Fire Departments responded to the call around 4:30 p.m. at 3985 Boggs Road. Captain Adam Siddle says the fire likely started in the basement of the home.

A Washington Township mobile home was destroyed in a fire Monday evening.
The fire broke out around 7:15 p.m. at 113 Eastwood Drive. Firefighters from the Washington Township and Zanesville Fire Departments responded to the scene and worked quickly to prevent the fire from spreading to other nearby homes.
"It always is when you come to the trailer park. It can jump from one to the other," says Chief Gene Hanning, Washington Township Fire Department.
Car enthusiasts turned out to help raise money for firefighters.
Saturday was the Sixth Annual Car Show sponsored by the Washington Township Fire Department. Fireman Jon Hittle says the crowd is smaller than last year but every little bit helps.
"We do pretty good with it. You know right now we've got about forty cars here. Last year it was a little bit more but it helps with the every day supplies we need to keep the fire department running."
The State Highway Patrol said alcohol may have been a factor in an accident Saturday evening.
Trooper Stephen Williams said the driver of a Jeep Wrangler was traveling westbound on Old Wheeling Road when he clipped an underground phone line and a private gas well before crashing into a utility pole.
"The driver was transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center for medical treatment, and we do believe that alcohol was a factor in this crash," said Williams.

"We always have a really good turnout, good support from our community. Right now, it's looking like it's going to be a sellout. We have about 1200 dinners and so probably within the next hour, those will be sold out," said Hanning.
