 Along with the great food at the Washington Township Fire Department Sunday morning, there were great family get-togethers.

 The Washington Township Fire Department held their Mother's Day Chicken BBQ fundraiser Sunday morning.

Members of the department arrived around 1AM to fire up pit and prepare for a large turn out. Around 1,200 meals were served.

 Many families will be taking mom out to eat for mother's day, but why not take her to eat for a good cause.

One hundred and fifty bales of hay caught fire Friday morning causing officials to shut down a local road for a couple of hours.

A pick up truck was traveling down Eastpointe Rd. in Adamsville when the driver realized his attached trailer packed with hay was on fire . Washington Township fire fighters responded to the scene and say they are unsure of the cause.

The Washington Township Fire Department is having a membership drive for the month of January to encourage residents to consider becoming a volunteer firefighter. Chief Gene Hanning says joining is easy and the training is free

The accident happened  just after 4 p.m. Monday afternoon between Samara and Lovers Lane in Washington Township. Lt. Matt Boyd of the Ohio State Highway Patrol says three motorcycles were heading back to Cleveland after sight seeing in Muskingum and Morgan Counties. A group of local fire fighters is gearing up for Mother's Day.
