The Zanesville City Water Maintenance Department is ready to handle water main breaks that are bound to happen this winter season.

Water main breaks are becoming more and more common in Zanesville and with the winter season in full force, along with old infrastructure, Public Service Director Mike Sims says there is no way to stop the inevitable.

A water main break closes a stretch of roadway in Zanesville for the weekend.

The break occured late yesterday afternoon off of Pine street between Muskingum and West Main. The force of the 8 inch pipe underground burst into the side of a sewer manhole. Zanesville City Public Service Director Mike Sims says while only two homes were affected, the water lost is quite substantial.

A water main break is causing problems for motorists and residents in the Pine Street area, Friday morning. Officials at the City of Zanesville water treatment plant say Pine Street is closed from West Main Street to Muskingum Avenue due to the break. Crews are currently working to repair the pipe. Officials say this closure could last a few days.

A water main break on State Route 22 in South Zanesville adds to an extensive list of breaks within the past month. It's making more work for the water department which already has their hands full with other projects.

The eight-inch break occurred across from the Sheetz in South Zanesville around 2 p.m. Only one customer lost water, but traffic was backed up. Water superintendent, Paul Mills says that the list of breaks continues to grow.

The Muskingum County Water Department has issued a boil advisory for some of its customers. Officials say a water main break occurred on Dale Road. Now, a boil advisory remains in effect for Dale Road and the West end of Grove Road and East Military Road. Customers should check for discoloration before doing laundry. The boil advisory remains in effect until further notice.

A water main break on Maple Avenue has left some residents without water Wednesday afternoon.

The break has one northbound lane of Maple blocked off between Brookover Avenue and Taylor Street.. Zanesville City Water Department Supervisor Shane Tysinger says crews will be working on repairs through the afternoon. Public Service Director Mike Sims says everything should be back to normal around 3:00 pm.

Main Street is closed from First Street to the Y-Bridge.  A Water main break occured Monday in front of the Benco Pet Food factory.  This is the second time the break has occured in that spot.  Motorist should find an alternate route.  The West Main Street and Linden Avenue spans of the Y-Bridge are open.

The Village of Roseville is dealing with a water main break on Thursday. It happened on Zanesville Road and has left some residents without service until repairs can be made. Village Officials says once water is restored – a boil advisory will be in effect for the following areas: Zanesville Road, Rosehill Road, Sheila Lane/Sheila Circle and Parkview Apartments. The advisory remains in effect until further notice.

Multiple water main breaks in Roseville have resulted in half of the village without water.

Crews have been working since early Monday morning to repair three water lines. The first broke at the Main Street Bridge, and once crews valved the area, it created pressure, causing the others to break. Many residents are without water, and others have a limited supply remaining.

The Zanesville Water Department is asking people to conserve water after a 16 inch water main break.

The break occured near the railroad tracks by AK Steel.

Residents can expect low pressure and discoloration, but there is not boil alert.
