The break occured late yesterday afternoon off of Pine street between Muskingum and West Main. The force of the 8 inch pipe underground burst into the side of a sewer manhole. A water main break is causing problems for motorists and residents in the Pine Street area, Friday morning. Officials at the City of Zanesville water treatment plant say Pine Street is closed from West Main Street to Muskingum Avenue due to the break. Crews are currently working to repair the pipe. Officials say this closure could last a few days.
A water main break on State Route 22 in South Zanesville adds to an extensive list of breaks within the past month. It's making more work for the water department which already has their hands full with other projects.
