A water main break that closed a Zanesville road for most of the day has been repaired.

A 20 inch piece of pipe split early this morning, causing the Water Department to close Pershing Road between Dryden Road and Lexington Avenue.

Water Superintendent Paul Mills says they were experiencing some problems fixing the line because part of the main was encased in what appeared to be an old railroad track, which needed to be cut out before repairs could  take place.

A street is shut down in Zanesville right now because of a water main break. Zanesville Police say Pershing road is closed between Dryden Road Lexington Avenue. The Water Department is working on the water break but does not know when they'll be able to get the street back open. So you'll need an extra couple of minutes if you are heading over that way.
