The Plein Air Group will be honored by the Z.A.A.P. Art Gallery and featured in the gallery for the entire month of August.

The Zanesville Applachian Arts Project is featuring Susan Stubbins, a retired art educator in the Zanesville City School district who has continued her passion for the arts in her own studio in downtown Zanesville.

"I do mostly collage, mixed media artwork. I work with acrylics, watercolor and papers. A lot of them are handmade or hand decorated by myself," said Stubbins.

Organizers of the First Friday Art Walk are hoping the warm weather brings out a lot of spectators.

Aaron Chandler is the Zanesville Appalachian Arts Project featured artist of the month.  Chandler graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 1996, but he began painting long before then.  He said his art incorporates architecture and history.

If you're looking for something to do Friday night, there will be plenty of activities in Downtown Zanesville.
 

Not only is the annual St. Thomas Festival taking place but so is the First Friday Art Walk.

More than 20 different galleries will be  taking part including the Z.A.A.P. Art Gallery located on Main Street.

His work is what members are calling different from any others' at the gallery, and you can check it out for yourself this Friday, October 1.

First Friday Artwalk starts at 6 p.m. This month's featured artist is self-taught Greg Keagy.

"I find his work very fascinating. He does a very heavy application. An application that I've actually seen back in the 50's and earlier," says Gary Graham, Z.A.A.P. Gallery member.

The Muskingum County Fair may have wrapped up, but the Z.A.A.P. art gallery in downtown Zanesville is reminiscing their favorite fair moments.

The gallery's theme for September is "A Fair to Remember," featuring each member's replications of distinct memories from their time spent at the county fair.

For downtown Zanesville, it's a chance for the community to enjoy local artwork, music, and food.

Galleries in the downtown area will be displaying their art as usual this Friday, but Zanesville Appalachian Arts Project, also known as Z.A.A.P., is getting the community involved.
