A local branch of a national organization hosted a fundraiser for Autism at Zane Landing Park.


Saturday, was the 5th annual National Autism Association of Southeast Ohio's Walk for Autism . More than 500 people who are affected in some way by the disease came out to spread awareness and raise money for research.

Day two of Stars and Stripes on the River is taking place all day Thursday at Zane Landing Park.

At the downtown park, there is food, carnival games and local entertainment to amuse the crowds.

Music filled Zane Landing Park on Sunday.

The Zanesville Memorial Concert Band had their 2nd installment of the 2013 Summer Concert Series. Two of the band's percussionists are also celebrating Father's Day by playing together. Caitlin Coulson says she enjoys spending time with her father.

Lawn chairs filled Zane Landing Park on Sunday for the first session of the Zanesville Memorial Concert Band 2013 Summer Series.The event started promptly at 7 p.m.The concert featured music from the memorial band, as well as the High School Honors Band, that consisted of students from different area high schools . A few months ago 32-year-old Caseyne Sanford noticed pain and a lump in her right arm. She was diagnosed with Sarcomatoid Carcinoma, a rare cancer for a woman her age. Caseyne had the option of amputation or chemotherapy, and chose to keep her arm and take the treatments. Now friends are trying to raise money to help her with expenses.

Zane's landing park filled up fast this afternoon.
 

Bikes rolled in as the Memorial Weekend got underway. The Zanesville Jaycees hosted an evening of food, drinks and entertainment for the public.

The Zanesville Memorial Concert Band is kicking off its summer series at Zane Landing Park.

It had a special treat for those attending tonight. The concert featured an honors band made up of local high school students from the area.

"There's just a lot of energy and excitement...a love of music in these students. It's great to be able to work with them outside of school, " says artistic director, Jeff Roquemore.

Roquemore says they try to keep people coming back...
