One of the largest solar energy tours takes place right here in Ohio.
Fifty-one counties were represented in this year's Green Energy Ohio Solar Tour. According to the Ohio Energy Resource Division, the majority of sites on this tour have retained more than 1,000 jobs, in addition to creating more than 700 jobs. The results of ACT college admission tests are in, and the numbers aren't promising.
According to the test scores, only 28% of Ohio high school graduates met college readiness standards in English, reading, math and science. Vice President of Student Services at Zane State College Dr. Dotty Welch said the statistics are much more positive at Zane State.

Ideas are in the works for Zane State College's expansion project.
Zane State President Dr. Paul Brown said the college has selected SHP Leading Design to plan the Advanced Science and Technology Center.
"This is a firm out of Columbus that has extensive experience with science, technology and math buildings," said Brown. "They also have a great deal of experience with LEED certified energy efficient buildings."
A recent spike in community college enrollment may be driven by jobs and affordability.
Data from Ohio's Higher Education Board shows enrollment has more than tripled in the past decade for Community Colleges and Regional Campuses. President of Zane State College Doctor Paul Brown said from a local perspective that averages out to be a 10% hike each year.
"The word is out that you need some level of college education to get a skilled job," said Brown.
For local kids Science Week exploded to a finish at Zane State College.
The camp has been in action for three weeks, providing students with hands on interactive science. "Science Guy" Daryl Baines, was the highlight of the program, spending the past three days instructing kids on dissecting cow hearts, robotics, and finally wrapping up the fun-filled week with a presentation.
