It was a one stop shop for many high school juniors and seniors thinking about their future college plans.

Zane State College and Ohio University-Zanesville hosted their 31st College Day Friday. Zane State College Admissions Coordinator, Jody Burchett, says the main purpose of the event is to give students an opportunity to view different colleges that they may not have a chance to travel to.

Zane State College receives a major financial boost Thursday for the expansion of its Cambridge campus.

Basic Systems, Incorporated announced a $250,000 investment to Zane State's Building a Vibrant Community Initiative.

Zane State College is gearing up for its future site of their Advanced Science and Technology Center.

Currently, the old County Home sits where the future facility will be built. Zane State President Dr. Paul Brown says they will continue to use the building for some educational and training purposes until the building is torn down. Golfers are hitting the course to help out an area college.

Zane State College Foundation held its 25th Annual Golf Outing on Monday at Eaglesticks Golf Club. the event helps raise money to create scholarships for students who attend the school. Over the years, nearly $1.5 million has been awarded to about 1,800 students.

Area college students are hoping to give stray cats and dogs a place to call home.

The Zane State Business Club held a Pet Adoption Fair on Saturday. The public was invited to enjoy a fun walk with their dogs and help raise money for the Animal Shelter Society in Zanesville.

Ohio's leaders are working to make the state a front-runner in clean energy programs that would make Ohio an attractive place to live and work.

Zane State College has suspended classes until noon today (Wednesday) due to a power outage. Director of Marketing and Communications Tamra Pace says students should call the School before coming to campus. A power outage this morning has knocked out service to over 2600 American Electric Power Customers. Service is expected to be restored by around 11:00 Wednesday morning. A-E-P says a squirrel got into a sub-station and caused the outage.
