Trees purchased at Zanesville High School will go to help the newest alumni.

Thursday in the courtyard at ZHS plaques were unveiled in front of 15 trees purchased by former graduating classes.

The proceeds go toward the Zanesville Alumni Association scholarship fund. This year $1,000 scholarships were awarded to three graduates of the class of 2012- Caitlin Coulson, Payton Norris and Justine Stewart.

Zanesville High School seniors were given tips on how to succeed in college and successfully enter the workforce.

Mind Your Own Business CEO Cassandra McDonald spoke about encouraging children to make goals, believe in themselves to succeed as they move on past high school.

Thursday the National Day of Prayer was celebrated in Muskingum County at an event at Zanesville High School.

This year's theme is, "Blessed is the Nation whose God is the Lord." Prayers were said for teachers, law enforcement, firefighters, military and business people who make Muskingum County a safe and productive place to live.

Several performances were also put on by the Zanesville High School Choir.

Thursday marks the 61st annual National Day of Prayer, and Zanesville High School will once again host the event.

A real life lesson took place in Zanesville -- but it was not real... it was a mock accident at Zanesville High School on Tuesday that killed one and injured five others.

Current 8th and 9th grade students are being recruited for a new opportunity at Zanesville High School.

Muskingum Valley New Tech Academy is a program designed to prepare students for college and the workforce.  Principal Jocelyn Cosgrave said it will be part of the existing Zanesville High School, and the courses will be taught by a cohort of Zanesville teachers.

The Zanesville Police Department is warning students and parents about the consequences of underage drinking.

Last weekend ten Zanesville High School athletes were caught drinking at parties, and Director of Student Services Kevin Appleman said the students were suspended from their sports for 20 to 50 percent of their games.  Police Chief Eric Lambes said the juveniles are responsible for their behavior, but parents should be aware of what can happen if their child throws a house...

The Zanesville City School District is once again dealing with student athletes caught at underage drinking parties. The latest episodes happened this past weekend.

Four students from Zanesville High School are taking their robotics creation to compete against students from around the world.

Jeffrey and Bradley Suciu, Harley Rider and Matthew Thompson are all a part of the robotics class at Zanesville High School taught by Dr. William Stewart.
