Zanesville police say an area woman remains in critical condition at Good Samaritan hospital after a shooting incident.

Chief Eric Lambes says it happened around 5:15 Thursday evening at 1127 Lafayette Street. Local law enforcement work to tie a robbery suspect to other open cases within the county.

With assistance from the Muskingum County Sheriff's the Zanesville Police have arrested 37-year-old Teddie Hunter. The Zanesville Police Department is investigating an early morning robbery.

It happened at the Speedway on Blue Avenue.

Detective Sgt. Harry Taylor says a suspect entered the business and demanded money from the cashier.

He says no weapon was shown.

Detective Taylor says the suspect fled the store in a mid- size red two door sedan.

Zanesville Police said an incident on Larzelere Avenue is under investigation.

It happened around 11 p.m. Monday at the Larzelere Apartments, which is part of the Zanesville Metropolitan Housing Authority. Police said it was first reported as a stabbing, but the investigation revealed otherwise.

A Zanesville Police Officer will face disciplinary action after a compromising photo surfaces.

The photo is currently making the rounds on social media websites. It was taken January 17 in downtown Zanesville on 6th Street around 5 to 6 a.m. It shows Patrolman Brooks sleeping in his vehicle while on duty. Chief Eric Lambes said the picture speaks for itself.

A major accident closes part of the downtown to traffic Tuesday afternoon.

The Zanesville Police Department said that a semi-truck was heading east on Main Street and a Ford Explorer was heading west when they were hit by a white Chevy traveling on 7th Street.
