The Zanesville Police continue to investigate an early morning robbery in Zanesville.

Detective Sergeant Ric Roush said that just before 6a.m. Wednesday morning a male subject walked into the Starfire Gas Station at 727 Pershing Road and demanded cash from the male clerk on duty.

Roush said the robber assaulted the clerk by striking him in the face, then fled on foot.

Detective Roush said they do have a suspect in custody and he's currently being held in the Zanesville City...

One person is taken to the hospital following a three car accident in Zanesville.

It happened around 5:15 Monday evening in front of AK Steel. The Police Department says the driver of a PT Cruiser struck a silver Impala and a Dodge Avenger that were parked in front of Armco.

Officers said the driver of the PT Cruiser suffered a broken arm.

The Zanesville Fire Department and Community Ambulance assisted at the scene.

The Zanesville Police Department says it's looking for a man, who was believed to be armed.

Patrolmen were called to an earlier incident in the day, involving a Kenneth Johnson of Zanesville.

The Zanesville Police Department is investigating a robbery that happened over night.


Police tell WHIZ News the Econo Lodge on North Seventh Street was robbed around 2:30 Wednesday morning.

One of the employees reported they were closing out the bar and didn't think anyone was there when a man came out of no where, wearing a mask, and took the money they were counting on the bar and ran.

Police are still investigating.

The city is also discussing how the Zanesville Police Department is handling its overtime issues, and the consensus was all involved were doing a good job.

Chief Eric Lambes says he would like to think he's contributed to the decline in overtime.

"I give most of the credit to the officers. They're doing their best to cut down on overtime while still giving the citizens good protection, " says Lambes.

Five women arrested following an undercover operation appeared in Zanesville Municipal Court Tuesday.

Lt. Tony Coury says the women were arrested Monday evening when undercover officers conducted a prostitution sting.

According to court records, Courtney Coen pled guilty to one count of soliciting and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Judge William Joseph gave her a 500 dollar fine and 45 days in jail with the condition of no repeats for two years. April Martin pled...

Zanesville Police make an arrest in a Thursday morning attempted break-in.

Lt. Bill Shaw says that around 2am police responded to a report of breaking glass on Moxahala Avenue. Officers found a window had been broken out of the Disabled American Veterans Building at 428 Moxahala Avenue.

Police located 38-year-old Isaac Washington III a short distance away on Adams Street. Washington is on probation and found to be out past curfew.

The Zanesville Police Department is prepared to take appropriate actions against anyone who misbehaves during this weekend's Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament, and place people in jail if needed.

The Zanesville Police Department is joining other law enforcement agencies throughout the state to start Ohio's "Click It or Ticket" campaign tomorrow.

The Zanesville Police Department says an arrest has been made in connection with an April 21st homicide.

Officers responded to the intersection of Luck Avenue and Ohio Street around 11:30 that night and found 27-year-old Dajuan McKenzie, who had been shot once in the head and once in the upper body. McKenzie later died of his injuries at Grant Medical Center in Columbus.
