The search is over for a missing Zanesville man.

18-year old Charles Boyer was spotted riding his bicycle home this evening by a friend of the family.

Zanesville Police arrest a Morgan County man on felony drug abuse, while his daughter sits in his car.

The man is 28-year-old Stewart Olney of McConnelsville.

Lt. Bill Shaw says the man was seen near Mead Street and Ridge Avenue around 12:30 Friday morning engaging in suspicious behavior that appeared to be a drug transaction.

A Zanesville woman is sent to Good Samaritan Hospital after a two car accident.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. near the intersection of Pine and Chester Streets.

Zanesville Police Department's Lieutenant Tony Coury says 26-year-old Shana Wade was traveling southeast on Pine Street when she went left of center and struck 23-year-old Shawnda Rine. He says Wade was on her cell phone at the time of the crash.

The Zanesville Police Department says it doesn't have any suspects at this time involved in a robbery that took place last night.

Sergeant Chris Phipps says officers responded to the incident at 344 Linn Street. Scanner traffic indicated two black men broke through the home's front door. Phipps says he can't release a description of the men yet, other than they were wearing black and blue bandanas.

Four people are sent to Good Samaritan Hospital after an accident in Zanesville.

It happened around 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Maple and Adair Avenues.

Zanesville Police Department Lieutenent Tony Coury says 18-year-old Ashley Valentine was traveling east on Adair Avenue when she attempted to make a left hand turn onto Maple Avenue. He says Valentine ended up striking 33-year-old Melissa Bowman, who was traveling west on Adair Avenue.

The Zanesville Police Department says it handled nine car accidents during a four hour period this afternoon.

Lieutenant Tony Coury says none of those were serious injuries. They just caused some minor damage, and he says a few of those were hit and skips.

"I think people are getting used to it being it's February and we've had a lot of snow. They are taking their time and driving is pretty good. Speeds aren't real quick, " says Coury.

The city of Zanesville is in a budget crunch and Thursday the Public Safety Committee met to discuss cutbacks at the police and fire departments.

The Zanesville Police Department has to trim around $150,000 off its budget from last year. Chief Eric Lambes said they are cutting back on overtime, going back to a cheaper paint scheme on their vehicles and they will not be filling two open positions.

Three people are taken to hospital after a two car accident.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 719 and Moxahala Avenue.

A suspect in a shooting at the EconoLodge in Zanesville will be formerly charged Friday.

Detective Sergeant Ric Roush at the Zanesville Police Department says the shooting took place around 10:20 Wednesday night. Roush says one shot was fired into the air outside the motel. No one was injured. One indvidual a 32-year-old Louisiana man was taken into custody. His name will be released after charges are filed.

Zanesville Police are releasing more information about a man found dead in the Muskingum River Sunday evening. Detective Sergeant Ric Roush says he is now being identified as a 29-year-old white male from out of town. Roush says he will not yet release the victim’s name or hometown.
