One Zanesville Police Officer saves the life of a man on Sunday.

Officer Brian Swingle was out on a call, traveling toward the south end of the city, when he saw something unusual from his cruiser. Lieutenant Tony Courey says there was a distraught individual climbing across the railing on the Y-bridge. Swingle stopped his car and was able to grab the man back over the railing.

The Zanesville Police say they've located the driver involved in a hit skip accident Thursday morning.

Lt. Bill Shaw says around 4am a car hit two parked vehicles near Eastman and then the driver fled. Authorities say they caught the suspect, who's being charged with consuming alcohol underage, drunk driving, driving under suspension and a number of other traffic violations. He'll appear in court sometime Thursday.

His name isn't being released at this time.

The Zanesville Police are looking for the driver involved in a hit skip accident that took place Thursday morning.

Lieutenant Bill Shaw says around 4am a car hit two parked vehicles near Eastman and then the driver fled. Authorities say they are currently following up on leads and searching for the suspect.

The Zanesville Police Department shut down Orchard Street around 9:30 this evening while they looked for a suspect.

Sergeant Chris Rice says the suspect they are searching for is Shane A. Goins.

A Zanesville man is in custody Monday morning after a two hour standoff with police Sunday.

Zanesville Police says it happened at 311 Florence Avenue. Sergeant Andy Armstrong says officers went to the home to serve some domestic violence warrants to 20-year-old Ronnie Tabler II out of Franklin County.

The Zanesville Police Department is asking for your help in locating a missing 24-year-old woman.

It says Jaime Smart was last seen, leaving her house at 2124 Maplehill Street around 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Smart is about five feet tall and weighs about 105-pounds. She's bi-racial and has brown hair with hazel eyes.

Authorities say reports indicate smart was last wearing gray pants, a gray sweater, and sandal.

A Zanesville man is dead after two shooting incidents last night that the Zanesville Police Department says are linked.

Authorities say 43-year-old Claude Mayle shot his wife, 38-year-old Laura Mayle, in a car on Luck Avenue around 6:30 p.m.

Sergeant Chris Phipps says the woman was shot once.

Laura was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital and then MedFlighted to Grant Medical Center in Columbus.

She is listed in fair condition.

The Zanesville Police Department is investigating two separate shooting incidents tonight that it says are linked.

The first occured on Luck Avenue around 6:30 p.m.

Zanesville Police Sergeant Chris Phipps says a female was shot in a white vehicle.

The Zanesville Police Department is investigating an evening accident on Underwood Street that sent one to the hospital.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. near Wendy's.

Sergeant Chris Phipps says the driver of the red Buick was making a left from Eastman Street when he suffered a medical condition and hit a green Jeep traveling northbound on Underwood Street.

Zanesville Police are still looking for a suspect in the Sunday robbery of the Speedway on Blue Avenue.

Police say around AM, a young black man in a blacked hooded sweatshirt and jeans showed a gun to the clerk and stole an undetermined amount of cash from the gas station.
