The Zanesville Police Department ended 2012 on a good note and have high hopes for 2013.

Police will be out in full force to keep party goers safe this New Year's Eve.

The Zanesville Police Department is increasing its patrol tonight. Chief Eric Lambes says crews will be out on the main roads to catch drunk drivers.

Many people plan to travel for the holidays leaving homes empty.

Zanesville Police Captain Tony Coury said that if you plan on leaving your home for any significant amount you should make sure to lock your doors and windows. He also suggests putting a stop delivery on mail and newspapers and let others know you'll be away.

The Zanesville Police Department hopes to fund a new program, to cut down on problems around the city...

A plastic bottle with remnants from a mobile meth lab combusted this past weekend, and sent a West Muskingum High School student and teacher to the hospital.

WHIZ is on the scene of a possible armed robbery in Zanesville.

Police cruisers are on Richmond Avenue and in the Sun Spot parking lot on Maple Avenue, where officers are believed to be looking at video footage of the crime.

A car crashed into a home in Zanesville Tuesday.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. at 928 Sharon Avenue. Shortly before the crash the Zanesville Police Department received calls about a reckless driver on Goddard street. Patrolman Alan Etters says the Buick that hit the home matched the description of the vehicle driving recklessly, leading officers to believe it's the same car. The Zanesville Police Department is doing ride-alongs with Zanesville City Schools for National School Bus Safety week.

Police Captain Tony Coury says the most common violations come from drivers passing school buses with their lights on while loading or unloading kids, and speeding in the 20 mph school zones. Coury says so far this week, everything is going well.

A routine drug search takes place at Zanesville City Schools.

Wednesday, the Zanesville Police and Muskingum County Sheriff's Office took part in a search of lockers and cars at Zanesville High and Middle Schools. Three K-9's swept the building and parking lot for any traces of drugs.

An investigation by the Muskingum County Drug Task Force and Zanesville Police leads to raids on two homes.

Zanesville Police Captain Tony Coury said that before 11p.m. Tuesday the SWAT teams from both agencies entered homes at 1227 Elm Street and 148 Beulah Avenue.
