Being in Ohio, you've no doubt noticed the sleek, silver Dodge Chargers driven by state troopers with the Ohio Highway Patrol.  Now, the rest of the country is getting to have a look at them as well.

An online contest was recently held by the American Association of State Troopers to select the nation's best looking cruiser.  When the final votes were tallied on Facebook, Ohio came out on top with nearly 22,000 "likes" of the buckeye state's patrol car.

A rollover crash near South Zanesville sends one to the hospital late Wednesday afternoon.

Trooper Jeff Fowler Jr. with the Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol says at around 5 p.m. a red Ford F-150 was northbound on State Route 555 just past Grantcliffe Road. The vehicle lost control, slid off the right side of the road and overturned into an embankment. Two people were sent to the hospital Monday afternoon following a motorcycle accident on North River Road.
 

State Highway Patrol Trooper Jeff Fowler said around 3 p.m., a motorcycle traveling southbound carrying two passengers failed to negotiate a curve and drove off the right side of the road, striking a guard rail. A two vehicle accident, involving a semi and an Ohio Department of Transportation truck, shut down traffic on Interstate 70 in both westbound lanes, Wednesday afternoon for several hours.

State Troopers plan to be out in full force for New Year's Eve.

The Zanesville Post of the Highway Patrol is increasing the number of troopers on the road and the length of their shifts during the holiday as they attempt to detect and apprehend impaired drivers.

"The patrol is very diligent in looking for impaired drivers, hoping that people will use caution and plan their activities over the holiday and not drink and drive," said Lt. William Boyd.

One person was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Sunday afternoon after a rollover accident north of Zanesville on State Route 60.

It happened just before 5 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

Trooper Todd Henry of the State Highway Patrol said a Honda Civic was traveling northbound when it went off the right side of the road, overcorrected and rolled into a ditch.

The driver, Sherri Hand of Nashport, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with minor injuries.
