Two area football teams that battled each other in a scrimmage Friday night, have been busy this week battling the spread of skin infections in their players.

Thursday Tri-Valley was notified one of their football players contracted MRSA. And since last week 20 Zanesville players have come down with impetigo.

More tourists are making Zanesville the place to be this summer.

Over the past few months, the y-bridge city has been featured in "The Columbus Dispatch", "Country Living" and "Ohio Magazine".  Vice President of the Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce Kelly Ashby said these publications have highlighted The Wilds, Conn's potato chips and the Lorena Sternwheeler.

Early this morning at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds, it was hard to miss the Blue Devil Pride. The annual tradition of 30 Hills played out for the 40th time in the history of Zanesville's football program. The members of the football team have no doubt worked harder over the summer in preparation for the upcoming football season, but they never have more meaningful beads of sweat than they do the Friday before Two-A-Days.

Gant Municpal Stadium was busy Saturday. For the 46th time, the City of Zanesville hosting a portion of the Babe Ruth State Tourament. Starting today, the tournament will run through July 20th, when it will then send one team to the Ohio Valley Regional Tournament in Owensboro Kentucky.

One person is taken to the hospital following a crash in Zanesville.

It happened around 5:30 Wednesday evening on Maple Avenue near St Louis Avenue.

According to Officer Shane Starkey with the Zanesville Police Department, a red Pontiac rear ended a black Ford that was traveling southbound.

The female driver of the Pontiac was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with minor injuries.

(ZANESVILLE) -- Practice is underway for the 30th annual Muskingum Valley-Licking County All-Star Game.  Previous head men have admitted the experience of coaching the showdown for the first time is tough.  Getting over 30 players from 11 different teams on the same page is no easy task.  We stopped by practice on Monday to see how things were going.

The new OHSAA numbers are out, and it appears that the Zanesville boys and girls basketball programs will play at least the next two years at the Division One level. In a motion approved by the OHSAA Board of Directors today, Zanesville's male enrollment places them in Division I, with 409 boys. The cutoff to remain in Division II was 368 boys.
