Zanesville City Schools Superintendent Terry Martin had the unfortunate task of announcing Friday afternoon that severe budget cuts will be made due to the faltering economy.

"Everything from top to bottom, you begin to look at what you can compress, how much you can save in virtually every area," said Superintendent Terry Martin.

Martin said some of the students will be relocated: sixth graders will remain in their current elementary schools, all seventh and...

Firefighters from around Ohio traveled in to honor former Fire Chief Dave Lacy of Zanesville Friday afternoon.

The Fire Chiefs Association and Union honored him after he announced his retirement last month. He said while he's sad to leave the fire department, which has become his second family, he'll always be a firefighter no matter what.

"It just means that once you get that in your blood until you become incapacitated and can't do it anymore, you still have that urge to...

Rockies Express Pipeline donated a connex to Mid-East Career Center Wednesday morning. It will be used as a training simulator for students in the fire program.

"We've had a long term relationship with them since they have been doing the pipeline work in the community so they've made donations to our high school and it was a logical extension for them to help our fire program...
