The newest Associated Press Poll is out, and the Rosecrans Bishops are number one in the state for the first time in school history. The Bishops have been inching towards Dayton Jefferson Township, the defending Division IV state champions. This week they passed them, despite receiving five less first place votes. In Division II, Zanesville continues their ascent, moving from six to five this week in the latest rankings.

It wasn't easier for the Zanesville Blue Devils the second time around against East Liverpool, but it was still a victory. ZHS grabs their sixth win in a row, defeating the Potters for the second time this season, 69-58. The Blue Devils were entering Tuesday night's game, guarding against a letdown. There was one, but it wasn't Zanesville's. The Blue Devils defeat Canal Winchester 52-28, holding the Indians to the lowest point total of any Zanesville opponent this year. Before the game, Zanesville head coach Scott Aronhalt preached to his kids the motto that this Blue Devil team has lived by all season: Set the Tempo. In no game was it more important than the eleventh game of Zanesville's year, against the defending Division I state champions, the Massillon Jackson Polar Bears. Authorities are currently searching for suspects in an armed robbery.

According to the Zanesville Police Department, the incident occurred at 17 Ceramic Avenue around 10 p.m. on Friday .

During the time of the break-in, three adults and one child were in the home. One male was shot in the leg and his condition is unknown at this time. He was taken to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital by Community Ambulance.

The suspects involved are believed to have weapons and fled the scene...

A man who abused a ten-week-old child was in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court on Monday.

22-year-old James C. Williams II of Zanesville was convicted of endangering a child with serious physical harm.

The prosecutor's office says in November of 2009, he abused his 10-week-old daughter causing head and body fractures. Judge Mark Fleegle sentenced Williams to six years in prison. Amber Jones is a co-defendent in the case.
