A man who abused a ten-week-old child was in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court on Monday.

22-year-old James C. Williams II of Zanesville was convicted of endangering a child with serious physical harm.

The prosecutor's office says in November of 2009, he abused his 10-week-old daughter causing head and body fractures. Judge Mark Fleegle sentenced Williams to six years in prison. Amber Jones is a co-defendent in the case.

History normally repeats itself, but tonight in front of a packed house at Winland Memorial Gymnasium, history reversed itself. The Zanesville Blue Devils improved to 8-2 with a 50-30 victory over the Tri-Valley Scotties, a near mirror image of the 47-30 Tri-Valley victory over the Blue Devils a year ago. The Muskingum County Sheriff's Office in a joint effort with the Zanesville Police Department executed a search warrant at the residence of 114 Pierce Street in connection to a drug investigation.

Sheriff Matt Lutz says three adult females and one male have been arrested but names are not being released at this time. Lutz says, during the search, they recovered powder cocaine, crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, along with a firearm and ammunition.

A local man wanted in connection with a state wide investigation has turned himself into authorities.

Sebastian Luu of Zanesville is facing felony charges of practicing cosmetology without a license. His sister, 18-year-old Britney Luu was arrested Thursday at the Z-Nails salon in Zanesville. She faces similar charges.

One local man is being recognized for his outstanding contributions to the community.

Randy Coconis of Zanesville is receiving the Dick Johnson Civic Leadership Award presented by the Muskingum County Community Foundation. He was selected for his many accomplishments as a leading furniture retailer.

Family and friends are paying their last respects to a longtime Zanesville School official.

Over 1,500 people attended the calling hours held for Darrell Lear at the Snouffer Funeral Home in Zanesville Tuesday evening.

After battling cancer for several months, Lear passed away at 63-years-old on January 1st at the Genesis Hospice Morrison House.

Genesis- Bethesda Hospital is welcoming Zanesville's first baby of 2011.

At seven pounds 10 ounces and 21 inches long, Ki'Mani Cannada was born at 8:27 p.m. on Monday.

His mother Beverly Gonzalez said she was thrilled to finally have a baby boy; she already has a daughter, Amayah, who is 11 months old.

Even though she now lives in Cleveland, she said she wanted to have her son back in Zanesville at Bethesda, where her first daughter was born.
