Flu activity is on the rise in Ohio and the Ohio Department of Health is encouraging people to get vaccinated.

Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department Epidemiologist Kristen Baker says Pertussis, which is commonly known as the Whooping Cough, has a trend of increasing every 3 to 5 years. Volunteers and local law enforcement agencies worked together to get prescription drugs off the streets.

As part of National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, the Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department had their annual drive-thru drop off event Saturday.
