Zanesville Police are asking for help after a weekend incident.  Detective Sergeant Harry Taylor says around 1 a.m. Saturday a breaking and entering at Tire World at 1049 Maysville Avenue   escalated into an aggravated robbery.  Detective Taylor says a person living at the business confronted two armed white males who had entered the business through an exterior window. A four car accident caused some traffic back-ups Tuesday on Maple Avenue.

Police responded to the scene in front of the Colony Square Mall just after 4 p.m.

Sergeant Jon McCoy of the Zanesville Police Department said the driver of a dodge caravan heading northbound failed to see traffic stopped in front of him and started a chain reaction crash, resulting in a four car pile-up.

According to McCoy, the driver that caused the crash was treated at the scene for injuries...

Zanesville Police reported Wednesday that a Zanesville shooting suspect is now in custody.

According to Detective Sergeant Ric Roush, the Columbus Police Department and its special response team arrested 28-year-old Rico Brown of Columbus, at a hotel on Tuesday afternoon.

"He was taken into custody at that time without incident, no one was injured during the apprehension. He is currently incarcerated in the Franklin County Jail," said Roush.

Zanesville police say they are continuing to investigate a shooting that took place in the one thousand block of Ohio street.

Detective Sergeant Ric Roush says around 10:30 last night officers responded to a call that several shots were fired. Roush says officers found an 18-year-old zanesville male with a gunshot wound to his neck. An on-duty Zanesville Police Officer was transported to the hospital Friday night around 10:30.

It happened at the intersection of Luck Avenue and Indiana Street. According to Sgt. Chris Phipps, a red truck ran a stop sign and struck the passenger side of Ptl. Jeremy Barnhart's cruiser. The crash drove both the cruiser and the truck into the yard of a home.

Members of the city's Crime and Violence Committee discussed new initiatives to combat crime in Zanesville.

Zanesville Police Chief Eric Lambes reported that 4 new officers are in the hiring process for the city, and told committee members that plans to re-open part of the City Jail are underway.

According to Lambes the backlog of prisoners waiting to serve jail sentences is close to 150, and re-opening the second floor of the jail will be a deterrent to those who commit crime....

It is a wild end to the week after high winds blow through Zanesville and the rest of Ohio.

The National Weather Service says a Wind Advisory remains in effect for much of the state.

The strong winds knocked out power to homes, businesses and some traffic signals causing minor problems.

Two Zanesville Police Officers were hurt early Wednesday morning investigating an incident at a local convenience store. Lt. Bill Shaw says just after 12:30 officers were called to Dairy Mart on Pine Street and found a partially clothed man acting strangely. Shaw says Chad Abbott of Zanesville was not wearing a shirt and was screaming and acting delusional. Shaw says two officers were hurt trying to subdue and arrest the man. A motorcyclist sends Law Enforcement on a high speed chase through Zanesville....

A pickup truck slammed into a house after a two vehicle injury accident in Zanesville.
