A special Holy Hour of Prayer for the suffering people of Haiti will be held at St. James Episcopal church, 155 N. 6th St., Zanesville from 4pm-5pm. All are welcomed to join in prayer.

Spaghetti Dinner Benefit for Fultonham United Methodist Church on January 23 at Newton Twp Fire Department. Doors open at 2pm for activities and dinner will be from 4-7pm. Dinner includes spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert, and drink. The cost is $7 for adults, $3.50 for children 5-12, and children 4 & under are free. Tickets purchased in advance are $6/$2.50. Carry out will be available.
Written and directed by Betsy A. Martin, will premiere on Saturday, January 30th at 6pm in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church basement in New Lexington. Presented by teh BAM Mystery Players, only 100 tickets will be sold at $20.00 each. No one under the age of 21 will be admitted. One ticket will be drawn the night of the show and the winner will receive the profit ($1200-$1500)To give to his or her favorite charity. The winner may give the money to one non-profit organization, school group, scholarship, church or divide the money up to three ways.
Meg Deedrick, Executive Director of the United Way of MPM and Blair Tom, United Way of MPM Investment Committee Chair will present a check for $5,000 to Ed Mulholland, Executive Director of The Muskingum Valley Council of Boy Scouts of America on Friday, January 15th, @ 2:00 pm at the McIntire Library, Meeting Room B in the lower level of the library.
Kick off to 4-H 2010 and spaghetti dinner to be held on January 28 from 5-7pm at North Terrace Church.
To be held Sunday, February 7 from 1-4 at the Maysville Cafetorium & Gym. There will be a spaghetti dinner, gun raffle, 50/50 drawing, antler scoring, Chinese auction, archery range (1-3pm), wild game cookbooks, hats & shirts, meet the archers & coaches, auction starts at 3pm, and bake sale. There will be a Benefit for Barnet (Dave Barnett) on February 6th at the Crossroads in Pleasant City, OH on St Rt 821 & 146. There will be a hog roast, raffles (Steelers Troy Polamalu, Cleveland Indians Baseball Autograph Justin Masterson COA, Cleveland Browns Teve Heiden Autograph pin, Chicago Bears Autograph football, & more), door prizes, and karaoke from 5-7 and Backbone at 9pm. There will be a Square Dance at the Chandlersville Community Building on January 23rd with the Green Valley Pickers 8-11. The cost is $3 per person age 13 & up. There will also be soup and sandwiches for sale before and during the dance.
SPICE in New Straitsville and Perry County District Library in New Lexington are co-sponsoring a one-day workshop designed to assist those interested in starting small busineses. The workshop will take place Saturday, January 23 from 10am-4pm at the Perry Co. District Library at 117 S. Jackson St in New Lexington. The cost is $20 and prior registration is required.
