Hunt for Copper Wire Thieves

Authorities in Licking County are looking for those responsible for stealing 30 feet of copper tubing from an American Electric Power substation on Brice Street, July 9th.

Newark Police say the thieves dug into the gravel to get the tubing causing a power outage to over 3,800 customers from east Newark to Hanover.

Licking County Crime Stoppers are offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of those involved.

American Electric Power is also offering an additional $5,000 for information.
