HS Football: Maysville, Cambridge Win Thursday Night Showdowns

by Jed DeMuesy on September 6, 2009

In an early start to the 2009 High School football season, two area teams made the bus ride back to West Virginia a little bit longer for Linsly Academy and John Marshall.

The Maysville Panthers win thier first game in two years after they made more plays against a Linsly Cadet team that converted a 4th and 20 on their final drive, but not a 4th and 2. Cory Wilson ran and threw for a score as the Panthers win their inaugural game in the Maysville Athletic Complex.

East on I-70, the Cambridge Bobcats took their first lead in the final seconds of the fourth quarter on a Dashaun Lewis score, that made it 20-15 over John Marshall, and that was that.
