Residents woke up early Saturday to help support a local charity.
Applebees on Maple Avenue hosted a pancake breakfast from 8 am til 10 am, with all proceeds benefiting the Animal Shelter in Muskingum County.
“It is a great event, they provide all the food and the location it is a 100% profit for our organization. It is very generous of them to provide this for us,” says Larry Hostetler the executive director of the animal shelter.
The money raised will go toward the animals’ medical expenses. Every year Applebees offers a pancake breakfast to a non-profit organization.
“The animal shelter is one of our favorite ones to do because they have a no kill zone, so we really enjoy that because I love animals and I think most of us do,” tells Applebees manager Linda Tate.
Besides breakfast, there also was a raffle. Hostetler says he expects 100 people to have attended.
