A community is rallying together for one woman’s time of need.
People gathered in Chandlersville for a benefit dinner to support Kandi VanFossen, who was diagnosed with cancer back in July.
“She has bone cancer with no medical coverage. This was just to raise money for her and her family, ” says Event Coordinator, Jamie Dady.
It was an event that also raised VanFossen’s spirits.
“Yes, she’s seeing friends that she hasn’t seen for years, ” says Event Coordinator Candie Dady.
The benefit dinner also raised money through a dodgeball tournament, a silent auciton, a dunking tank, a car show, and a chili cook-off.
“Really, at this point, we didn’t have a set goal. Whatever we get is great, ” says Candie.
VanFossen’s bone cancer is in its last stage.
