As fall approaches, the Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department says it’s time to start thinking about getting your seasonal, flu shot for the year, and Dr. Vicki Whitacre says it looks as though there should be enough to go around.
“We should have a very adequate supply, particularly for the October 1st clinic that we’ll be doing down at the fairgrounds again like we’ve done in years past, ” says Whitacre.
Whitacre says 15 thousand seasonal flu shots should be available, and she’s encouraging everyone to get their seasonal flu shot this year for extra added protection.
“Anybody who’s a county resident can come. There may be a charge in you’re out of county, ” says Whitacre.
Whitacre says there may be some redness in the area arm, where the shot was injected, but she says you can’t get the flu from the shot.
She adds it’s a good idea to get the seasonal flu shot this year because a person is capable of getting both the seasonal flu and the H1N1 Virus too.
