September is Hunger Action Month, and Sprint stores across the country are taking part in a big-scale effort to feed those who are hungry.
So, to help, from Thursday through today, Sprint stores held a food drive.
“We know that there’s a great need for this, this time of year. The Christ Table does 47,000 meals. Zanesville and Muskingum County is one of those places that does that. So, we’re just trying to support them. They need canned fruits, peanut butter, and canned pastas-just anything of that nature just to help out, ” says Zanesville Sprint Store Manager, Misty Harris.
Harris says the need for food is up nearly 14 percent this year, and she says the store wanted to take action.
“It’s actually something we approached them about doing. It’s something we like to do to give back, ” says Harris.
Harris says this is the first year Sprint has collaborated with Christ’s Table to hold a food drive, and she says it’s something it hopes to continue in the future.
