An event in Zanesville is being called the social event of the fall season.
Around 300 women attended the ‘Lunch With The Asters’ benefit at Zanesville Country Club, to raise money for the Helen Purcell Home.
“The home was started many years ago by Helen Purcell, they want to provide for people who maybe their money has run out and they have no means to stay at the home,” tells Co-Chairwoman, Geraldine Zylinsky.
The benefit included an elegant lunch, silent auction, raffle and fashion show. Merchants throughout the community donated the items for the benefit. Last year ‘Lunch With The Asters’ raised over $14,000.
“It is nice just on a beautiful day like this to have an elegant meal and see friends that you have not seen since last year and the ladies from the home get to come… it is just a beautiful way to celebrate,” says Dorthy Montgomery, a former Muskingum County Commissioner.
All the money is used to better the Helen Purcell home and enhance their residents way of life. Zylinsky wants to thank all the women who attended the benefit.
