***UPDATE*** Zanesville Police Investigates 2 Shooting Incidents

***UPDATE*** 

The Zanesville Police Department is investigating two separate shooting incidents tonight that it says are linked.

The first occured on Luck Avenue around 6:30 p.m.

Zanesville Police Sergeant Chris Phipps says a female was shot in a white vehicle.

"It appears that she was shot one time, " says Phipps.

The woman was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital and then MedFlighted to Grant Medical Center in Columbus where she is listed in fair condition.

About 15 minutes later, authorities responded to a seconding shooting about a mile away.

"He then fled the scene and came to Putnam Landing Park, where he apparently caused himself some harm, " says Phipps.

The suspect was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital. Phipps says it is believed that the suspect died from his wound, but hospital personnel could not verify that information.

"This apparently appears to be some sort of domestic dispute that has gone this far, " says Phipps.

Phipps says the suspect fled in a vehicle and was found several minutes later at Putnam Landing, where a police scanner indicated that shots were fired.

Wintesses at Putnam Landing say the suspect tried to inflict harm on himself, but authorities could not verify that at the scene.

The suspect was transported to the hospital. The extend of his injuries are not known either.
