by Ashley Drane on November 9, 2009

The election is over and more people came out to vote this year than predicted.

A whopping 48.6% of people voted last Tuesday.

"All voting locations were very steady and they out turn was very good this election," Chris Hamill Director of the Board of Elections said.

The election results are technically unofficial and there are several races that are really close.

"We do have approximately 220 provisional that will be counted on the official count so that could fluctuate the outcome of the races," Hamill said.

The Board of Elections will have the official count of all the races November 17th. Hamill says if they would have a tied race it would go to a recount and it would be five days after the official count.
