A Licking County Sheriff’s deputy is taken to the hospital after a two car collision last night.

It happened around 7:30 p.m. on State Route 16.

The Granville Post of the State Highway Patrol says Deputy Earl Bowen was traveling west on State Route 16, approaching an intersection with active lights and sirens, when he was struck by David Harriott of Granville. He was traveling south on Kendal Road. The Granville Post says Harriott failed to yield.

Both Bowen and Harriott were transported to Licking Memorial Hospital.

Bowen was treated and released.

Harriott still remains at the hospital in fair condition.
