Mall Shopping vs. Internet Shopping

The Colony Square Mall is reporting great sales from Black Friday through Sunday.

Most stores say they either reached their set goals or surpassed last year’s figures.

Mall Marketing Manager, Kevin Pinson, says there was heavy traffic around the mall and a lot of shopping bags, and he says it was a smooth holiday weekend overall.

"Everyone seemed pretty civil. I think it helped that we just didn’t throw open the doors. We had the department stores open before the mall so that kind of eased the pressure, " says Pinson.

A national study is showing more online shopping this holiday season with even more people taking advantage of widely advertised Cyber Monday sales. Pinson says that trend doesn’t concern him though.

"The Internet is nice if you know exactly what you’re looking for. You can’t touch the item. You can’t comparision shop as well. If you’re just looking for ideas, that’s the hard route to go, " says Pinson.

Pinson says people still like to come out to see what’s on the shelves before making that final purchase.
