You may not know it, but there is an entire miniature town inside a building in downtown Zanesville.

For almost 40 years members of the Zane Trace National Trail Model Railroad Club have constructed and operated miniature trains in the top floor of the Business Expo building. The train tracks wind around the room and take you on a simulated journey.

"It’s fictional trip from Zanesville to Charleston, West Virginia," says club member Brad Handshy.

If all the tracks were laid out in a straight line, it would stretch for over a mile. Club members say they love miniature trains and the mechanics that go into creating these designs. For some, it is a family hobby.

"My great, great grandpa actually worked for the B & O Railroad and I blame my dad, my dad got me into it," says Handshy.

The club is holding an open house this Saturday and Sunday from 9 to 5 PM. The trains are located on the top floor of the Business Expo building at the corner of Market and Fourth street. Admission is donation based.
