In honor of Veteran’s Day,  three local groups are teaming up to serve our vets and help keep them healthy.

The Sports and Fitness Management Program at Zane State College is proud to offer a brand new free program to all area vets.

"In our sports and fitness laboratory gonna be utilizing the Wii Fit  ,the Wii Sport and the Wii Active games to help vets with their wellness and fitness or even with rehabilitating some of their injuries that they might have encored during their tour of duty," Tim Berger Director of the Sports and Management Program at Zane State College said.

Berger says they also partnering with two other local groups to make this all happen the Americans Caring Together and the Muskingum Family YMCA. Vets just show their ID at the YMCA and get in free.

Berger says it’s important for them to continue their physical development. Veterans can make an appointment by calling him at 588-1270 Monday through Friday from from 8 to 5.

"We just wanted to say thank you to all our area veterans and we realize that there wellness and their fitness is very critical when they are out of the military and we don’t want to forget them we want to say thank you," Berger said.

The President of Zane State College Paul Brown who is a 20 year vet himself says the program is specially designed for vets and it’s all to serve them better.
