The Muskingum Valley Red Cross is trying to rebuild some funding.
Executive Director, Dan Hartman, says the red cross might not have a lot right now, but it is doing a lot with what it has.
"We’ve had tremendous opportunity within the last four months to serve a lot of families…disaster families…a lot of military families…a lot of families needing blood, " says Hartman.
Hartman says like other Red Cross organizations across the country, the Muskingum Valley Red Cross is receiving smaller donations, and it has had more fires to deal with this year than in years past.
"We have overspent the Disaster Relief Fund by 20 some thousand dollars, which we have borrowed from other places, " says Hartman.
The Muskingum Valley Red Cross just finished its "blackout period," where it wasn’t allowed to conduct any fundraising efforts during the months of September and October.
Now that it has ended, Hartman says the Red Cross needs your help now more than ever.
