A Zanesville man is in custody after a drug bust. Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz says deputies arrested 4 people Tuesday afternoon at the corner of 7th and Elberon Streets on drug charges. Three were released, but 25 year old Timothy James Thomas is charged with 3 counts of trafficing drugs and three counts of possession of drugs.
"The arrest comes after narcotics were sold to undercover agents with our Sheriff’s office and the Central Ohio Drug Task Force and additional charges and arrests are expected to be made in the upcoming weeks," says Sheriff Lutz.
Thomas will be arraigned in Zanesville Municipal Court in the coming days. His case goes before a Muskingum County Grand Jury next week.
The arrest is the conclusion of a drug investigation that lasted for five weeks. More arrests are possible in the case. Anyone with information on the investigation is asked to call the Sheriff’s office at 740-452-3637.
