As the weather turns cold, many people are going to have to adjust moving their workouts from outside to indoors.
Fieldhouse Fitness Trainer Alaina Amicone says anyone with breathing problems needs to stay out of the cold when they exercise. She says the cold air can make it harder to breath and cause pains in your chest, and Amicone says changing your routine can be a big adjustment.
"The problem that we run into now is that it was so nice out. You could go out on the trail. You could go out and kick the soccer ball around with kids or grandkids, but it’s that cold. Winter’s coming, and it’s almost a depression mode, " says Amicone.
Amicone says it is important to maintain your exercise routine and to keep your endorphins pumping so you feel better.
"You don’t have to be a member of a facility. Obviously we want you to come in here and build a commradery with you. Yes, we have an indoor track, and we have machinges, but everything you can do at home, " says Amicone.
Amicone suggests climbing stairs a few times a day along with doing push-ups and crunches.
She also adds that people need to break the habit of saying they’ll go to the gym tomorrow because nine times out of 10, it never happens.
