The Maysville Girls Basketball team is helping three lucky kids in the community this holiday season.
The girls adopted an eight-year-old boy, an 11-year-old girl, and a 17-year-old girl from Maysville helping hands, and money that was collected during a foundation game at the beginning of the year was used to buy all three gifts.
"It was fun going out, knowing that we’re going to have kids that don’t usually have a lot, and they’re going to smile Christmas morning, " says Maysville Senior Haley Vallee.
Vallee and Senior Kristen McKee say it’s important for the team to work together on and off the court.
"It brings us all together. We enjoy being together. We’re a great team, and it’s a lot of fun, " says McKee.
The girls gathered in the gym this afternoon to wrap the presents, and they had differing opinions over who the best wrapper was.
"Melanie Poorman, especially Mel, " says McKee.
"Well, we all wrap good, " says Vallee.
Some of the gifts they were wrapping included clothes, a talking globe, and even a bike.
