Three area residents will soon be entered in a local hall of fame.

The Old Timers Baseball Association will host the 25th Annual Hall of Fame Banquet in January, honoring three members.

"I’m very honored to be selected for this. It’s an honor to be with an organization that spends so much time with the youth and baseball, with the Babe Ruth and the juniors and seniors," said Hall of Fame Inductee Steve Mercer.

The Old Timers fund area baseball for youth and young adults.

"They host the Babe Ruth Tournament," he said. "As far as activities for young people, you can’t beat getting on a baseball team and playing."

The banquet will be January 7 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Zanesville.

Tickets for the 5:30 p.m. dinner will be available through the Old Timers Baseball Association.
