Some local performers are lending their talents to help benefit the Muskingum Valley Red Cross this holiday season.

The show, "The Gifts," took place at Secrest Auditorium tonight.

"It’s been an amazing adventure because everybody…singers, dancers, old, and young…everybody has meshed together so well. I really think it’s going to be a fabulous show, " says Dancing Divas performer Trudy Cultice.

There’s something different too that makes this performance stand out from the rest.

"It’s got so many young performers. They get to hear about what we do and the families we serve. They’re going to be able to take that with them the rest of their lives, " says Red Cross Executive Director, Dan Hartman.

The Muskingum Valley Red Cross was active last night as it was called in to assist a Perry County family that lost its home to a fire. It happened in Shawnee around 11 p.m.

"At that time, that’s where we needed to be. That family needed us. They needed a place to go. They needed food and clothes. We’re just glad we were able to help them, " says Hartman.

Proceeds from tonight’s performance went directly to the Red Cross.
