Students are helping kids get more this Christmas

Some local students are helping area children have a Merry Christmas.

The Zanesville Campus Student Coucil  sponsored it’s 22nd Adopt-a-Child Chirstmas party. Students from Mid-East Career and Techonology Centers raised about $3,000 for the project through donations.

The students visited their adopted children at Starlight last week to meet and play with them and find out what they wanted for Christmas. Then the students went shopping and spent $75.00 per child.

And today Santa brought the gifts!

"It’s nice to see the kids smile and be happy and everything. These are actually kids that need the gifts and it’s just awesome to see the kids excited," Mark Massaro Zanesville Student Council Officer said.

"I really love kids and I just love to see the smile on their face and know that they are happy," Trisha Thomas
Zanesville Student Council Officer said.

Thomas says all the students really form a bond with their adopted child. She says this program  makes the children feel special and they know someone cares about them.
