Boy Scouts across the country are celebrating their 100th anniversary this year and locally they’re looking to honor someone in the area who’s made a difference in the lives of scouts.

As part of the anniversary celebration the Muskingum Valley Council of the Boys Scouts is seeking nominations for Scouting’s Hall of Leadership.

"It’s a hollowed leadership and what it is, is this there will be a lot of people who could be nominated. The stipulations are: number one that they are alive and number two that they have spent a least a year in scouting, helping in some way," Muskingum Valley Council Committee Chair Jay Benson said.

"Someone who has made an impact on a boy’s life," Benson said.

Benson said honesty, loyalty, and trustworthiness are the attibutes of scouts and they are celebratig those values.

To nominate someone just write a 450 word essay about their extraordinary leadership and scouting virtues and submit it at either the Muskingum Valley Counsil’s Scout office in Zanesville or online at www.scouting.org/100years. The deadline is February 7th.
