Boy Scouts across the country are celebrating their 100th anniversary this year and locally they’re looking to honor someone in the area who’s made a difference in the lives of scouts.

As part of the anniversary celebration the Muskingum Valley Council of the Boys Scouts is seeking nominations for Scouting’s Hall of Leadership.

"It’s a hollowed leadership and what it is, is this there will be a lot of people who could be nominated. The stipulations are: number one that they are alive and number two that they have spent a least a year in scouting, helping in some way," Muskingum Valley Council Committee Chair Jay Benson said.

"Someone who has made an impact on a boy’s life," Benson said.

Benson said honesty, loyalty, and trustworthiness are the attibutes of scouts and they are celebratig those values.

To nominate someone just write a 450 word essay about their extraordinary leadership and scouting virtues and submit it at either the Muskingum Valley Counsil’s Scout office in Zanesville or online at The deadline is February 7th.
