A local organization is looking for donations to help pay some of the college expenses for thirty students.
The thirty students were chosen by the Muskingum County Community Foundation. They will be honored at this Monday’s Martin Luther King Junior Scholarship Prayer Breakfast.
"Now what we are asking, this is such a large group of people, if anyone would like to contribute to helping us give these students a good send-off of a nice book scholarship then we are asking them to make their donations to the Muskingum County Community Foundation in honor of Martin Luther King, MLK," says Kathy Brantley the breakfast chairwoman.
Donations can be sent to the below address and all donations are tax deductible:

Brantley says each students will receive $500 dollars, so they are hoping to raise $15,000 in scholarship money.
"Most of these students are first term students in their families to actually attend college and attending college as we know its expense even with the fact that they have food expenses, book expenses, supplies ectera and this money will help them in terms of getting the supplies and books they need for college," tells Brantley.
Tickets to the breakfast can be purchased for $10 at the Welcome Center in Zanesville. Also in conjunction with Martin Luther King Day is the Ethnic Foods Fair this Friday at Zane State. Also, on Sunday at the John McIntyre Library at four o’clock Reverand Martin will speak about marching with Dr. Martin Luther King during the Civil Rights Movement.
