The Ohio Department of Transportation announced work will begin on Interstate 70 eastbound in Zanesville Wednesday morning.

Beginning Wednesday during daylight hours, I-70 east will be down to one lane just before the State Street exit as crews work to repair the concrete deck and an expansion joint.

Traffic will also be slowed to 45 miles-per-hour Monday thru Saturday.

Construction will be in two phases, with work on the driving lane starting Wednesday and work on the passing lane beginning when driving lane construction is complete.

Depending on weather the project should take 10 to 12 weeks.
